How to Become a Christian

God loves you. God demonstrated His love for the world in sending His Son as our Savior. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5).

All have sinned. Every person has sinned against God and broken His law (Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23).

Sin separated us from God. We are by nature and action under the wrath of God. Apart from salvation in His Son, the penalty for sin is eternal death in hell (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-8).

You cannot save yourself. There is nothing you can do to restore your brokern relationship with God. There are no good works you can perform to earn God's salvation (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5).

God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty for sin. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the eternal price for the penalty of sin. He received the punishment we deserve. He then arose from the dead to complete the work of salvation (I Peter 2:24; Romans 5:8; II Corinthians 5:21).

You may receive Jesus Christ through faith. Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you. It is reliance on His finished work on the cross (John 1:12, John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10).

How shall I come to Christ? Come as you are with a repentant heart (Acts 2:38). Come to the father on the merit of Christ (Acts 4:12). Come to the Lord through prayer when you hear His voice (Hebrews 3:15)! He has promised to receive all who come (John 3:15) and to forgive all who repent (I John 1:9)!
